This fountain was restored by PDVSA Centro de Arte La Estancia in 2009. This version of the fountain is designed by Architect Pablo J. Rodriguez P. based on hydraulic designs by Engineer Santos Michelena.
This is the fifth version of Plaza Venezuela Fountain. Restored from it's prior version by Architect Pablo J. Rodriguez P., commissioned by PDVSA Centro de Arte La Estancia. Prior versions were 1983, Santos Michelena and Metro de Caracas, 1970 by Architect Jose Miguel Galia, 1953 by sculptor Ernesto Maragall and 1945 by Urban Developer Luis Roche.
1983 version introduced automated color and pump controls (analog).
2009 version introduced music, LED and computerized control of light, music and water, along with an up-to-date structural design.
Work was performed from 2008 until august 2009.
