Always striving to set new records is an Italian company which over the years has made a name for itself with its creations, so that now it simply couldn't refuse a new challenge offered: lighting the world's tallest building, the 101 in Taipei, Taiwan.
With its height of 508 metres and a surface area of 120,000 m 2 , the tower represents the top of the world in architecture; the 16,000 elements of the faà§ades were built above all using stainless steel and aluminium. The 101, which resembles a bamboo tree, is to be entirely illuminated by Space Cannon in various stages, the first of which has already been completed with the installation of thirty-two 1200W Focus spotlights with colour change.
To go into greater detail, we tried asking the technical manager of the plants of the company based in Fubine , Italy , who has always had the task of putting into practice on site the various plans, what it feels like to work at certain heights. For 2004, the company has decided to stake on an avant-garde form of lighting or, as the chairman of the company, engineer Bruno Baiardi, prefers to call it, the Copernican revolution of light: LED spotlights.
