1 January 2007 – Space Cannon luminaires move to the tune of the "Ode to Joy†in Sofia to celebrate Bulgaria's entry in the European Union. Light Designer: Gert Hof.
Public events, concerts, exhibitions, fireworks, lights and colours in front of the monument to the Unknown Soldier in Sofia, where the EU flag has been hoisted, a solemn and emotional ceremony for the thousands of people attending the event. For Bulgaria , entry into Europe means the fulfilment of one of the country's great dreams.
The well-known lighting designer Gert Hof turned once again to Space Cannon for choreography of the lights. Sixty Space Cannon IREOS projectors, installed above the government palace, in the sumptuous architecture of the surrounding buildings, contributed to making this historical night unforgettable. In a crescendo of lights and music, the Space Cannon beams of light, synchronised to the notes of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy†(adopted by the EU in 1986), illuminated the sky above Sofia with white light.
